Our task is a simple one: pass legislation at General Conference calling for The United Methodist Church to divest from fossil fuels.

To do that, we need your help. The United Methodist Church pension and benefits agency, Wespath, holds over a billion dollars in fossil fuel investments. We don’t like those numbers.

We don’t have slick brochures and six figure lobbyists. We have instead the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We believe the church should never be invested in, nor profit from, destruction of homes, communities, people, and the planet.

We need to make sure that The United Methodist Church lives faithfully to do no harm and stay in love with God. Imagine if the Church invested in people, clean energy systems, and communities instead of oil and gas. We must act now. The crisis is already here–and we don’t like these numbers:
